New Balance Men's Mr993 Classic Running Shoe

New Balance Men's Mr993 Classic Running Shoe Review

First off these and all NB (I think) offer different width sizes so you can actually get the right fit. In addition the 992s (this model's predecessor) is designed for runners with a slight pronate which I have. Stability is what this shoe does and does super well for me. I didn't find that specification on NBs site for this shoe like the 992s, but it seems online sellers are still saying so, and I have no reason to believe my 993s have been changed either.

I have worn these 990s for many years now and this model just seems as good if not better than its predecessors. The only reason I buy new ones is frankly from natural wear. And I don't mean wear that is obvious like frays or the sole is coming off. I mean MINOR wear on the tread (starting to affect ankle/foot alignment) and slight stretching of shoes fabric/leather (don't get quite as good support). What's is amazing is these shoes are built so well, that by the time I need a new pair for specific reason these shoes still look and feel great. So great I wear them for comfort for daily chores. I swear 1 year on this shoe is like 3-4 months on your average high end, Nike Airs.

Simply put I have found the best shoe ever for me. If you know or think you need greater stability, I encourage you try them on at a local seller.

PS. My feet, my knees and even my hips LOVE these shoes :)

Teva Not-Quite-Sandals

Equipmment For Around The World Trip Is Being AssembledThe last week has been a blur of details and choices, exchanges and re-thinking on what to bring on a long-distance bicycle trip. Luckily for me there are online journals with dozens of equipment lists so I can see what others have done.

I have tried on numerous types and brands of tennis shoe in the past week, bought three, returned three. Three strikes and
you are out, right?These Teva shoes are very light, have ventilation holes, and I have been wearing them all week and forget they are on me. Originally I bought them just to relax around camp. I tried regular sandals but my daughter Lexi convinced me that other campers should not be subjected to the horrible sight of my bare feet right at dinner time. Sadly, she is correct.(As for the holes in the Tevas Rob Sweetgall has walked around the USA twice and always slits his Rockport tennis along the side to air them out in the heat, even in the winter.)I am considering wearing these shoes while biking. (Bike tech-geeks gasping everywhere, I hear you!) I may wear them with an arch insert and good light wool socks to wick moisture away. What do you think, orthopedic gurus and Lance Armstong wannabes?

REI Hiking Boots

A pretty penny they were, though only mid-range, but they feel great on my feet. I figure to do some hiking and even though they are heavy I hope I can tote them along. We shall see. I'm hoping to walk a bit in the United Kingdom, the Swiss Alps, and to trek in Nepal, so good boots are a requirement. The folks at REI are excellent and full of knowledge, though when Bob the Boot Expert looks you in the eye and asks what kind of sock you are wearing, as "the sock is as important as the boot", it can be intimidating. Especially when you have on Wal-Mart cotton cheapies.

Wow! Four little LED lights can be really bright. Bright enough to dig through panniers for that pesky stove to package up to send home! Bright enough to temporarily blind and constantly annoy Lexi from across the room!
Ah my daughter Lexi, she left tonight for Miami and Disney World! Have fun my girl. We are planning to meet in New York City soon enough to see 'The Little Mermaid' on Broadway and some of the museums and sights in the Big Apple.

The evolution of Teva

The evolution of Teva began with an unassuming Grand Canyon River Guide named Mark Thatcher and an idea that would spark the birth of an industry. Mark grew up hiking the Grand Canyon with his father and has always felt an undeniable attraction to the Colorado River. During his college days in the '70s, Mark worked as a boatman on the Colorado. From Crystal to Lava Falls, Mark learned each set of rapids like the back of his hand. He felt he was born to run the river and found great peace in its timeless rhythms. On countless river trips it happened, clients wearing water-logged sneakers would be envious of the flip-flops worn by the boaters at that time. However, while the flip-flops were quick drying, they were too flimsy for the rugged terrain of the Canyon. A solution was needed. Mark realized the boaters enjoyed the freedom and comfort of their choice in footwear but it's lack of support and stability was not ideal. With this knowledge and his own experience on the river, he developed the first prototype in 1984. The sport sandal was born - better yet, it worked! The first pairs were sold out of the back of Mark's van to friends and fellow boaters at the various put-ins along the river. He started to call his new business Teva (pronounced "teh'-vah") which in Hebrew means Nature. However, with demand growing everyday, Mark was no longer able to keep up with production. In 1985, Mark introduced the sport sandal to Deckers Outdoor Corporation, starting a successful long term relationship that would carry Teva from the canyon, to the trails and the adventures beyond. Literally, Miuccia Prada may not have been qualified as an Italian fashion designer, but she took over the Prada label and helped it scale new heights. It was Mario Prada who began this most sought after label in 1913. With Miuccia’s talent and leadership skills, one can see various exclusive boutiques of this brand, around the world. Giorgio Armani

One of the renowned Italian fashion designers of all times, the name behind the famous perfumes and other fashion stuffs, Giorgio Armani. Roberto Cavalli

Known for his finely crafted leather designs, Roberto Cavalli belongs to the array of multitalented Italian fashion designers. This fashion house is finest in men and women’s wear, kid’s wear, and other fashion accessories. Forget the fact that there's no way a CD will read in a moving shoe, but look at it. I mean really, look at it. It's like how they predicted the shoe of the future would look like in the 80's.

High Tech Shoes For Prostitutes

From the "Our Street Walkers Need to be Better Equipped" department come the platform shoes for prostitutes. Designed by the Aphrodite Project, these are the latest in greatest in hooker safety.

The shoes have an audible alarm system, which emits a piercing noise to scare off attackers. The shoes are also outfitted with a built in GPS receiver and an emergency button that relays both the prostitute's location and a silent alarm signal to public emergency services. Where there are problematic relations with law enforcement.... the shoes will relay the signal to sex workers' rights groups.

I don't even know what to say about this except that I'm getting them for all my girls. I'm tired of always trying to track them down to demand my money. Now I'll just use the GPS and threaten to run them over with the car.

Barefoot Running Shoes

Vibram's line of FiveFingers shoes (shouldn't that be FiveToes shoes?) are, um, unique. As an owner of Nike Air Rifts (that just have the big toe separated), I find these oddly appealing, yet disgustingly disgusting looking. I just hope none of my winter gloves catch sight of these things, because they'll fight them for being copycats. They sell for between $70-$100 and are allegedly great for all sorts of make believe sports like ChiRunning, Pose Method Running, and Bouldering. And, if they're anything like my barefoot style running shoes, they're even greater at smelling like ass.

XBox 360 Controller Shoe Is So Very Stupid

Heelys, a company best known for making those f'ing roller shoes that idiot children wear in Wal-Mart, is releasing another stupid product. The Gamer collection features footwear with soles made to resemble video game controllers. And no, they don't freaking work. Making them some of the stupidest shoes ever. Now I'm not saying that the guy who came up with this idea should be taken out and shot, I'm just saying he should be killed in some fashion.
